Background
Our mission in this project was to help our customers to successfully lead their company into the future and to dissolve knowledge monopolies. The aim was to find an ERP solution that fulfils the requirements of the areas of merchandise management and warehousing, quality assurance, controlling, management, sales and technology. The ERP software was to have archiving, document management and search functions and interfaces to the financial accounting system, which is operated by an external service provider.
Realisation
In order to identify the right ERP software, we conducted extensive interviews with the future key users to understand their requirements and optimisation wishes and to digitally record the existing processes. Based on these findings, we created a comprehensive catalogue of requirements that served as a guide for the selection of the ERP provider. After the selection, we asked the various providers to work on the catalogue. The selection was continuously refined and the focus was on the most promising options.
In proof-of-concept workshops, the selected providers presented practical demos of their systems based on previously discussed scenarios. The final selection was made through face-to-face appointments on site, during which the providers reproduced the company’s own processes on the system. This enabled a realistic evaluation to be carried out. Our role was to support the final selection and accompany the contract negotiations.
Results
The selection process brought decisive advantages for the company. By implementing the ERP software, overall efficiency can be improved and work processes optimised in the future. In proof-of-concept workshops and personal appointments on site, a well-founded selection was made based on practical evaluations to ensure a good fit with the company’s own processes. This not only led to improved efficiency and optimised processes, but also created a solid foundation for future growth. The ERP system has also made it possible to store and share knowledge that previously only existed in people’s heads. This created a valuable basis for growth and security.
